A month after the news came out, the police in Halifax, Canada stated that the death of a 19-year-old Sikh woman found dead in a walk-in oven at a Walmart store was not considered suspicious. The authorities reported that their inquiry revealed no proof of wrongdoing in the October 19 event.
Gursimran Kaur, the woman who was employed at the Walmart store, was discovered deceased around 9.30 pm on October 19 inside the bakery department’s oven.
Her name has not been released by the police until now. Nevertheless, the victim was identified by a Sikh group in Canada.
“We understand there have been many questions about what happened. As a part of the investigation, we conducted several interviews, reviewed video footage, and worked very closely with our partners,” Martin Cromwell, a Halifax Police officer said.
Our investigation has not given us reason to suspect any wrongdoing. We think the woman’s death did not involve anyone else. The officer stated that the Department of Labour and the Medical Examiner Service are still carrying out their investigations, but they do not consider the death to be suspicious.
Kaur had relocated to Canada from India just before she passed away. Fox News reported that both her father and brother were said to be in India when she passed away. There were many rumors circulating on social media after her body was found.
Walk-in ovens, also referred to as batch ovens or truck-in ovens, are industrial ovens designed for a range of manufacturing processes on a large scale. They are named ‘walk-in’ due to their size allowing individuals to enter and easily load or unload materials.
