Canadian law enforcement is currently investigating a suspected connection between the infamous Lawrence Bishnoi gang and a recent assault on the home of Punjabi music star AP Dhillon. The incident, which unfolded on September 2, 2024, involved multiple gunshots fired at Dhillon’s Colwood residence and the torching of two vehicles in his driveway.

The case saw a breakthrough on October 30 with the arrest of 25-year-old Abjeet Kingra from Winnipeg. Apprehended in Ontario, Kingra now faces serious charges, including “Discharge of a Firearm with Intent” and “Arson.” Authorities accuse Kingra of recklessly discharging a firearm at Dhillon’s residence and setting the vehicles ablaze.

The Lawrence Bishnoi gang, infamous for high-profile crimes, including the killings of Sidhu Moose Wala and Baba Siddique, has emerged as a central figure in this investigation. Sources suggest the gang had issued threats to Dhillon following the release of his music video “Old Money,” featuring Bollywood icon Salman Khan. The gang allegedly warned the artist to “stay within his limits” or face grave repercussions.

Meanwhile, a second suspect, 23-year-old Vikram Sharma, remains at large, with reports indicating he may have fled to India. An arrest warrant is out for Sharma, who faces identical charges as Kingra. Canadian authorities have requested public assistance in locating Sharma, urging anyone with information to contact the West Shore RCMP at 250-474-2264.

As the investigation unfolds, Canadian law enforcement is intensifying efforts to neutralize the organized crime elements linked to this case, aiming to safeguard public figures and individuals from escalating gang-related threats.

POWER CORRIDORS

Former Vice President Venkaiah Naidu commended Power Corridors as a commendable news magazine, affirming that it not only upholds Media Dharma but also fulfills its societal obligations. Power Corridors, as its name implies, delves into realpolitik—examining the essence of influential circles, unraveling the intricacies of political maneuvers, and exploring the pulse of the state’s affairs. However, it transcends mere power dynamics, encompassing a broader spectrum of issues beyond the confines of Delhi’s elite circles.

For PC, which is published by the Interactive Forum on Indian Economy, not only highlights the issues of the day but also throws up what ought to be the subjects that the country should be debating about. It reports about the plans, strategies, and agendas of politicians and others; it also sets the agenda for the nation.
