4th Indian arrested for role in murder of Hardeep Singh Nijjar
According to Canadian police, a fourth person has been detained and charged on Saturday in connection with the murder case of Khalistani terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar.
According to the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT), one Amandeep Singh has been taken into custody and is accused of first-degree murder and conspiring to kill Nijjar.
Indian native Amandeep Singh, 22, who lives in Brampton, Surrey, and Abbotsford, was already detained in Ontario on other unlinked firearms allegations, according to IHIT.

“This arrest shows the nature of our ongoing investigation to hold responsible those that played a role in the homicide of Hardeep Singh Nijjar,” said Mandeep Mooker, IHIT officer in-charge.
Along with Karan Brar (22), Kamalpreet Singh (22), and Karanpreet Singh (28), Amandeep Singh is now the fourth individual arrested in this case. The three have been detained in relation to the killing of Nijjar on the same accusations.
One of the accused, Karan Brar had entered Canada on study permit
In a 2019 social media video, accused Karan Brar disclosed that he entered Canada with a “study permit” obtained from EthicWorks Immigration Services located in Bathinda, Punjab. Online discussions suggested that Brar entered Canada on a student permit three years before the murder.
Global News, based in Canada, reports that EthicWorks shared a promotional video and a picture of Brar on its Facebook page. According to the organization, Karan Brar hails from Kotakpura, a city situated to the north of Bathinda. “Congratulations Karan Brar for Canada study visa,” the caption below the video read. “One more happy client for Kotkapura.”

Another facebook profile which appears to be Karan Brar’s, indicates he moved to Edmonton on May 4, 2020, after starting his studies at Bow Valley College in Calgary, Canada, on April 30, 2020. According to a college official who talked with the news agency, Karan Brar enrolled in the 2020 Hospital Unit Clerk program.
Notably, the university’s Hospital Unit Clerk program spans around 8 months. The college said in a later statement that it had no “record of ever having an affiliation with a company named EthicWorks Immigration Services.”
EthicWorks Immigration Services, however, said on its website that “Canada continues to attract more international students, even after reaching close to half a million students in recent years.”

Brar was detained in Edmonton along with Karanpreet Singh and Kamalpreet Singh. They are accused of murder and conspiracy, and appeared in court in Surrey, British Columbia.
According to the RCMP, all three of them are Indians residing in Edmondton. According to the Canadian police, they are looking into possible involvement of Indian government.
Nijjar was shot as he left a Surrey Gurdwara. In 2020, the Indian National Investigation Agency designated him as a terrorist. As part of their ongoing investigation, Canadian police released photos of the three accused and the car they say was used in the murder.
