February 17, 2026: Filmmaker Aditya Dhar’s production banner, B62 Productions, has been blacklisted by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) for allegedly violating safety regulations during the Mumbai shoot of Dhurandhar: The Revenge. The civic body also imposed a Rs 1 lakh penalty and forfeited a Rs 25,000 security deposit, citing breach of undertakings related to the use of fire-based props on set.
The action was initiated after the BMC received a complaint from a local resident regarding the use of fire torches on set without proper authorization. According to civic officials, the production team had previously given a written undertaking agreeing not to use fire or hazardous materials during the shoot. Despite this assurance, the crew allegedly proceeded with fire-based props, prompting immediate intervention. Authorities issued a verbal warning at the location, and police later confiscated five fire torches being used during filming.

Following the incident, maintenance staff from the BMC’s A-ward submitted a detailed report to the Deputy Municipal Commissioner (Zone I), recommending strict punitive action. The civic body subsequently ordered the forfeiture of the security deposit and imposed a Rs 1 lakh fine for breaching safety commitments. It also blacklisted B62 Productions, along with applicants Komal Pokhariyal and Nasir Khan, who had signed the undertaking on behalf of the production.
As part of the blacklist order, B62 Productions will no longer be permitted to apply for filming permissions through the Maharashtra Film City online clearance system, a move that could complicate future shoots within Mumbai and surrounding areas. The BMC said the decision was necessary to enforce compliance with safety regulations and deter similar violations by other production houses.
Dhurandhar: The Revenge, directed by Aditya Dhar, is scheduled for theatrical release on March 19, 2026. The film is a sequel to Dhurandhar, which was a major box-office success upon its release in December 2025. The controversy has drawn attention to increasing regulatory scrutiny over safety compliance in Mumbai’s film industry.
