The central leadership of the Bharatiya Janata Party has chosen Vishnu Deo Sai, on Sunday, to be the Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh. The speculation about who would be the state’s chief minister came to an end as a result.
Vishnu Deo Sai was named chief minister of Chhattisgarh following a crucial gathering in Raipur of the BJP’s 54 recently elected MLAs.
The BJP contested the recently concluded Chhattisgarh Assembly polls without declaring any CM face. The saffron party won a landslide victory, securing 54 out of the total 90 seats.
With 87,604 votes, Vishnu Deo Sai was victorious for the Kunkuri Assembly seat. If the party were to select a tribal face for the chief minister position, Deo Sai, a former state chief of the BJP, was also expected to be its top pick.
In the First Modi government, he served as the Union Minister of State for Steel. In the 16th Lok Sabha, he represented Chhattisgarh’s Raigarh constituency as a member of parliament.
From 2020 until 2022, he led the BJP in Chhattisgarh as its chief.
