Air India Express has enhanced air travel in Karnataka by introducing a daily non-stop flight between Mangaluru International Airport (MIA) and Delhi International Airport. The new service is anticipated to offer travelers improved convenience and flexibility.
As per an official announcement from MIA, the first flight, IX 1552, departed Mangaluru at 6:40 AM and arrived in Delhi at 9:35 AM on February 1.
At the same time, flight IX 2768 took off from Delhi at 6:40 AM and landed in Mangaluru at 9:35 AM.
As part of a ceremonial act, the inaugural flight was greeted with a water cannon salute from the Aerodrome Rescue and Fire Fighting (ARFF) team at Mangaluru International Airport.
The first trip transported 167 passengers to Delhi, and 144 passengers journeyed to Mangaluru from the national capital.
An official from Mangaluru Airport emphasized the advantages of the new service, saying, “This flight will serve both business and leisure travelers while enhancing transit choices for those connecting to various domestic and international locations.” Enhancing air connectivity continues to be our main focus to meet the increasing travel needs of the region.”

With Air India Express launching this direct service, travelers now enjoy two daily flight choices between Mangaluru and Delhi, alongside an established evening service provided by IndiGo. The new route is expected to reduce travel duration and enhance flight options for travelers going between the two cities.
