Hyderabad Police will interrogate actor Allu Arjun today regarding the death of a 35-year-old woman in a stampede that occurred during the premiere of his successful film, ‘Pushpa 2: The Rise’, at a city theatre earlier this month.

Police sources indicate that Arjun has received a notice and is required to show up at 11 am for the ongoing investigation into the case. Allu Arjun previously mentioned that he would assist with the inquiry.

The actor was summoned a day after police commissioner CV Anand issued a video detailing the events at the Sandhya Theatre, where the stampede took place on December 4.

A 35-year-old woman named Revathi lost her life, and her eight-year-old son was taken to a hospital due to a stampede that occurred when Arjun attended the showing of ‘Pushpa 2’ at the Sandhya Theatre. The event happened when thousands of fans hurried to catch a sight of the actor.

After the incident, the police lodged a case against the actor, his security personnel, and the theatre management under several provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).

Arjun declared a support of Rs 25 lakh for the victim’s family, whereas the producers of ‘Pushpa 2’ provided financial help of Rs 50 lakh.

Earlier on Sunday, a group of individuals, asserting they are students of Osmania University, invaded the actor’s residence and insisted on Rs 1 crore as recompense for the victim’s family. They hurled tomatoes, smashed flower pots, and damaged the property.

Authorities apprehended six individuals related to the event. Nonetheless, they all received bail from a court in Hyderabad on Monday.

POWER CORRIDORS

Former Vice President Venkaiah Naidu commended Power Corridors as a commendable news magazine, affirming that it not only upholds Media Dharma but also fulfills its societal obligations. Power Corridors, as its name implies, delves into realpolitik—examining the essence of influential circles, unraveling the intricacies of political maneuvers, and exploring the pulse of the state’s affairs. However, it transcends mere power dynamics, encompassing a broader spectrum of issues beyond the confines of Delhi’s elite circles.

For PC, which is published by the Interactive Forum on Indian Economy, not only highlights the issues of the day but also throws up what ought to be the subjects that the country should be debating about. It reports about the plans, strategies, and agendas of politicians and others; it also sets the agenda for the nation.
