Under the careful supervision of Adelaide Oval Head Curator Damian Hough, four pitches will be readied in the New York location; the remaining pitches will be laid at nearby locations in Florida and Texas.
This match between the two teams will be played on June 9, whereas India will start its campaign in the T20 World Cup from June 5.

Since the previous year, pitches have been prepared in Florida and were shipped from Adelaide last year. The pitches were tended to by Adelaide Oval Turf Solutions and US-based sports turf specialists LandTek Group, using native Tahoma 31 Bermuda grass.
Hough’s Adelaide Oval Turf Solutions team will stay in New York to supervise the work and help the ground crews maintain the pitches during the World Cup. The Nassau County International Cricket Stadium will have a capacity of 34000 seats, located at Eisenhower Park in Nassau County, east of Manhattan.
“We couldn’t be happier,” Hough said. “Everything is going to plan, they (the pitches) are in real good condition and all of our benchmarks and measures that we take along the way are exceeding expectations.”

Nine of the twenty teams will play at the New York location, with the match between IND and PAK being the most anticipated. The other teams that will compete at the location include the hosts, the United States, its neighbors Canada, Ireland, South Africa, Sri Lanka, the Netherlands, and Bangladesh.
“We hope we have got a good T20 pitch, that has good pace, good bounce and (provides) value for shots,” Hough said. “You want the batters to be able to play shots all over the ground so that is our design and at the start our ambition was to produce pitches along those lines.”
