Army releases sketches of Poonch attack suspects
Intensive search operation is going on since the terrorist attack on an Air Force vehicle in Poonch district of Jammu division.
On Monday, the Army released sketches of two terrorists. It has also been announced that a reward of Rs 20 lakh will be given to anyone who gives information about the whereabouts of these terrorists. Along with this, some people are being detained and interrogated.

Ever since the attack, 20 km area within Surankot and Mendhar has been cordoned off. The assistance of of drones is also being taken. Security forces have launched a massive search operation.
More than a thousand soldiers of Army, Jammu and Kashmir Police and SOG have been on high alert.

Poonch terrorist attack
Five air force men were injured when militants attacked a convoy on Saturday night in the Poonch area, close to Shahsitar. They were taken to Udhampur’s Command Hospital via evacuation. Sadly, IAF Corporal Vikky Pahade was one of them who was shot and lost his life.
Four terrorists, according to sources, carried out the attack. At approximately 6:15 p.m., the troops were making their way back to their base at Sanai Top when the convoy was ambushed in the Surankote region, close to Shahsitar.

In a post on X, the IAF offered condolences to Pahade’s family on Sunday.
“The CAS Air Chief Marshal VR Chaudhari & all personnel of Indian Air Force salute the braveheart Corporal Vikky Pahade, who made the supreme sacrifice in Poonch Sector, in the service of the nation,” the Indian Air Force wrote.

The officials said that no “contact” had been made with the terrorists and that teams from the Army’s Para Commandos had been assigned to the search operation. They also said that the search will continue in Jarranwali Gali and the surrounding areas.
Police from the Sanai region picked up about six persons to question them. Anand Jain, Jammu’s Additional Director General of Police, had visited the region earlier in the day.
The attack was the first big incident in the Jammu region this year.
