To support Arvind Kejriwal, the chief minister of Delhi who was arrested, prominent members of the opposition INDIA bloc are scheduled to rally in Delhi on Sunday. On March 31, a rally at Ramlila Maidan is scheduled to be attended by opposition leaders such as Rahul Gandhi, Mallikarjun Kharge, Uddhav Thackeray, and Sharad Pawar.

Permission Granted for Rally in Delhi to Protest CM Kejriwal’s Arrest

In order to protest CM Kejriwal’s arrest by the Enforcement Directorate (ED), leaders of INDIA were given permission by the Delhi Police and Election Commission of India on Friday to hold this rally in the nation’s capital on Sunday.

This happened the day after Delhi’s Rouse Avenue Court extended Arvind Kejriwal’s ED remand after the national agency promised to question him further and take data from his devices. Kejriwal’s arrest, according to the Aam Aadmi Party, was the result of a “political conspiracy” by the Centre.

In an effort to garner support for her husband and the party, Delhi Chief Minister Sunita Kejriwal launched the “Kejriwal ko Aashirwad” WhatsApp campaign on Friday. She asked users to use the messaging app to send prayers, supportive messages, and other communications.

Senior party leader Gopal Rai wrote on X after AAP received approval for the rally, saying, “All big leaders of the INDIA alliance partners are coming to Ramlila Maidan in Delhi on March 31. People of Delhi are also preparing to come. We have received the permission for the rally. So far, names of Mallikarjun Kharge, Rahul Gandhi, Sharad Pawar, Uddhav Thackeray, Akhilesh Yadav, Farooq Abdullah, Bhagwant Mann, Champai Soren, Tejashwi Yadav, Sitaram Yechury, Derek O’ Brien, Trichy Shiva, D Raja, Dipaknkar Bhattacharya, Kalpana Soren and G Devarajan have been confirmed.”

INDIA Bloc Rally in Delhi: Key Details and Political Figures

The INDIA bloc has been given permission by the Election Commission to hold a rally on Sunday, March 31, at Delhi’s Ramlila Ground. Leading Indian officials will be present and probably give a speech at the rally.

The Delhi Police stated in their notice of permission that the event will happen on Sunday from 9.30 a.m. to 2 p.m. The list of political figures who have confirmed their attendance at the rally has been released by AAP.

INDIA bloc leaders who will attend March 31 rally include Mallikarjun Kharge, Rahul Gandhi, Trichy Shiva, Derek O’Brian, Tejaswi Yadav, Sharad Pawar, Uddhav Thackeray, Sitaram Yechury, D Raja, Farooq Abdullah, Dipankar Bhattacharya, Champai Soren, G Devaraja, and Kalpana Soren.

Top AAP figures like Atishi, Gopal Rai, Saurabh Bhardwaj, and Arvind Kejriwal’s wife Sunita Kejriwal are anticipated to attend the rally, though this has not been confirmed.

Arvind Kejriwal will be brought before the court on April 1st, after which he is to stay in ED custody. On April 3, the Delhi High Court will consider his plea for temporary relief.
