The case involves allegations of assault and threatening to kill, stemming from a viral video circulating on social media where Elvish Yadav and his associates are purportedly seen beating up another YouTuber.

The YouTuber in question, identified as Sagar Thakur, who goes by the name Maxtern, claims to have been assaulted by Elvish Yadav and his followers following a social media clash. The incident, captured on video, shows Maxtern being beaten inside a garments shop by Elvish Yadav and his accomplices.

Social Media Clash of Evlish Yadav and Maxtern and Real-life Consequences

The social media clash between Elvish Yadav and Sagar Thakur reportedly began after Thakur shared posts criticizing Yadav for his association with fellow Bigg Boss winner Munawar Faruqui during a cricket match. The online spat escalated, leading to derogatory remarks and mutual taunts exchanged between the two YouTubers.

Elvish and Munawar participated in the opening match of the Indian Street Premier League on March 7, alongside cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar, Bollywood star Akshay Kumar, and others. Elvish Yadav, known for his vocal support of Hindutva, faced criticism from his followers for associating with Munawar, who was arrested in 2021 for alleged “indecent” remarks about Hindu deities.

Amidst the controversy, Sagar Thakur took a jibe at Elvish Yadav, labeling him a “hypocrite” for being friendly with Munawar. Responding to one of Maxtern’s posts, Elvish Yadav remarked, “Bhai tu delhi hi rehta hai socha yad dila du” (Brother, let me remind you that you live in Delhi).

The situation intensified when Sagar Thakur shared a screenshot of his alleged chat with Elvish Yadav, arranging a meeting in Gurugram on March 8. Subsequently, a video emerged showing the altercation between Thakur and Yadav, resulting in legal action against him and his associates.

Past Controversies of Elvish Yadav

This is not the first time Elvish Yadav has been involved in controversy. In November last year, he made headlines after his involvement in a case where snakes and snake venom were recovered from a rave party in Noida. Despite dismissing the allegations as baseless, Yadav’s name appeared in the FIR filed by the police.

The ongoing legal proceedings highlight social media clashes’ complexities and real-life ramifications. As the investigation unfolds, the case against Elvish Yadav is a stark reminder of the potential consequences of online conflicts spilling over into the offline world.

Power Corridors, as its name implies, delves into realpolitik—examining the essence of influential circles, unraveling the intricacies of political maneuvers, and exploring the pulse of the state’s affairs. However, it transcends mere power dynamics, encompassing a broader spectrum of issues beyond the confines of Delhi’s elite circles.

For PC, which is published by the Interactive Forum on Indian Economy, not only highlights the issues of the day but also throws up what ought to be the subjects that the country should be debating about. It reports about the plans, strategies, and agendas of politicians and others; it also sets the agenda for the nation.
