Mumbai, January 26, 2026:
Mumbai Police have arrested actor Nadeem Khan, who was recently seen in the hit film Dhurandhar alongside Ranveer Singh, in connection with allegations of repeated rape and sexual exploitation of a 41-year-old domestic worker over a period of nearly ten years, allegedly under the false promise of marriage.
According to police officials, the complainant—who has worked as a domestic helper for several actors and industry professionals—first came into contact with Khan around a decade ago. Investigators said the two gradually developed a personal relationship, during which Khan allegedly assured the woman that he would marry her.
The woman has alleged that Khan used the promise of marriage to establish and continue a sexual relationship, which she says was non-consensual and exploitative, given the repeated assurances and her reliance on them. She claimed that the assaults occurred on multiple occasions over the years, both at her residence in Malvani, Malad, and at Khan’s home in Versova, areas located in Mumbai’s western suburbs.
Police said the alleged abuse continued for several years until Khan eventually refused to marry her, prompting the woman to approach the police. Following her complaint at the Versova Police Station, authorities registered a zero FIR—a procedural step that allows police to record a complaint regardless of jurisdiction—before transferring the case to Malvani Police Station, where the first alleged incident took place and where the complainant resides.

Khan was arrested on January 22, 2026, and has since been remanded to police custody. Officials confirmed that he is being questioned as part of the ongoing investigation. While police have not yet publicly detailed the exact charges, the case is expected to involve provisions of the Indian Penal Code related to rape, criminal intimidation, and sexual exploitation on the false promise of marriage.

Investigators are reportedly examining call records, messages, and other potential evidence to establish the nature and duration of the relationship, as well as the credibility of the allegations. Statements from witnesses and individuals familiar with both parties are also being recorded.
Nadeem Khan is known for his supporting role in Dhurandhar, a high-profile action film that achieved blockbuster status. He has been active in the film and entertainment industry for several years and maintains a visible presence on social media platforms, including Instagram, where he frequently shares updates related to his work.
The case has drawn attention amid ongoing national discussions on consent, power imbalances, and the legal interpretation of “false promise of marriage” in sexual assault cases—particularly in situations involving economic and social vulnerability, such as relationships between employers or industry insiders and domestic workers.
Police said the investigation remains ongoing, and further details will emerge as the probe progresses. No official statement has yet been issued by Khan, his legal representatives, or the complainant.
