The White House has circulated a first-hand account of the US raid on Venezuela that describes American forces overwhelming government troops in what the witness called a “massacre.”

January 10, 2027: The White House on Saturday shared a first-hand account describing the US raid that led to the capture of Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro as a “massacre,” citing the testimony of a Venezuelan security guard who claimed to have been on duty during the operation.

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt posted the account online, urging readers to take note of what she described as a stark depiction of how Venezuelan forces were overwhelmed during the raid. “Stop what you are doing and read this,” she wrote while sharing the account.

The narrative, presented as an interview with a Venezuelan guard, describes a sudden and devastating assault in which Venezuelan security forces were unable to mount any effective resistance. According to the account, radar systems inexplicably shut down moments before the attack, leaving personnel blind as drones appeared overhead in large numbers.

“We were on guard, but suddenly all our radar systems shut down,” the guard was quoted as saying. “The next thing we saw were drones — many drones — flying over our positions. We didn’t know how to react.”

The guard claimed that only a small number of helicopters followed, deploying what he estimated to be around 20 US special operations troops. Despite their limited numbers, he alleged the attackers possessed overwhelming technological superiority.

“They didn’t look like anything we had fought before,” he said, adding that Venezuelan forces were “technologically unmatched.”

Describing the confrontation, the guard said it quickly turned into what he repeatedly referred to as a massacre. “We were hundreds, but we had no chance,” he claimed, alleging that the attackers used highly precise and rapid fire that left defending forces unable to regroup or retaliate.

The account also alleges the use of an unidentified weapon that the guard likened to an intense acoustic or sonic device, claiming it incapacitated large numbers of personnel simultaneously. These claims have not been independently verified.

According to the testimony shared by the White House, the attackers suffered no casualties. “Those twenty men, without a single casualty, killed hundreds of us,” the guard claimed, concluding with a warning to other countries in the region about confronting the United States militarily.

The account emerged as US officials continue to defend the legality and necessity of the operation, which resulted in Maduro being seized during a predawn raid and flown out of Venezuela to face charges in the United States. The operation, dubbed Operation Absolute Resolve, followed months of intelligence-gathering and planning, according to US officials.

President Donald Trump has described the mission as a decisive blow against drug trafficking networks in Latin America. The Venezuelan government, meanwhile, has condemned the raid as an illegal act of aggression and a violation of national sovereignty.
