New Delhi: Dense fog enveloped large parts of the national capital in the early hours of Thursday, sharply reducing visibility and disrupting air, rail, and road traffic. At least 40 flights were delayed, while more than 22 trains are running behind schedule due to the adverse weather conditions.
In an advisory issued at 8.10 am, the Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport said flight operations were being conducted under CAT III conditions amid poor visibility, which could lead to delays or disruptions.
“We are working closely with all stakeholders to minimise inconvenience to passengers. For the latest flight status, travellers are advised to contact their respective airlines. We sincerely regret any inconvenience caused,” the advisory said.
Airport authorities earlier confirmed that Low Visibility Procedures (LVPs) had been implemented as foggy conditions significantly reduced visibility levels, even though flight operations continued.
