The choice of Uttar Pradesh as the location for the factory is driven by the State’s ambitious net-zero targets, making it a significant market for EVs in the future. The company also aims to change the brand perception by investing in diverse regions nationwide.
Ashok Leyland’s market share in the northern region has seen significant growth, with the company gaining a good share in the north, central, western, and eastern regions. The company’s international presence has expanded despite subdued market conditions in the past two years.
Launching the EV manufacturing plant in Lucknow is a significant step towards contributing to Uttar Pradesh’s net-zero targets and Ashok Leyland’s pan-India growth strategy.
