Taking a significant step towards establishing esports as a competitive and officially recognized sport in India, the Skillhub Online Games Federation (SOGF) successfully hosted the SOGF Esports National Championship 2025 on 23rd and 24th August in Noida.
Recognized by the Global Sports Federation, SOGF holds the distinction of being the only accredited body in India dedicated to advancing esports. Through this championship, the federation brought together the nation’s finest gamers, showcasing an exceptional blend of technology, strategy, and skill. The tournament was conducted entirely offline with free entry, where selected players from across the country competed at the highest level.
The two-day championship began on 23rd August with the trophy unveiling ceremony, graced by Ashok Dhyan Chand, Vice President of SOGF, Olympic medalist, World Cup medalist (Gold, Silver, Bronze), and recipient of the Arjuna Award.
The Grand Final was held on 24th August at 5:00 PM, followed by the prize distribution ceremony at 6:00 PM. The champion was awarded a cash prize of Rs. 1,00,000 (One Lakh Rupees) in the presence of distinguished guests, giving the event a truly prestigious stature.
