Should England triumph in this match and subsequently the series, much of the praise will be directed towards Harry Brook. The English star batsman hit a brilliant century and brought England back into contention, after India claimed two wickets early on Day 4.

Harry Brook struck 111 runs off 98 balls in an electrifying performance. This marked his 10th Test century. He accomplished this milestone in his 50th Test appearance. He is now the first player since 1955 to achieve his 10th century in 50 innings or fewer.

Siraj’s Catching blunder Cost India badly
Harry Brook might have left the game early if Mohammed Siraj hadn’t erred significantly while bowling to Prasidh Krishna. When Harry Brook lofted a ball from Prasidh Krishna while he was at 19.
The ball headed directly to Mohammed Siraj at deep fine leg. He grabbed the ball, but his feet hit the rope and it was counted as a six. At noon on Day 4, Siraj approached Krishna and apologized for making a rather expensive error.
Another Test Hundred for Legendary Root
Already an All Time Great, Joe Root smashed the 39th Test Century of his career surpassing Sri Lankan legend Kumar Sangakkarra.
An impressive collaboration totaling 195 runs between Harry Brook and Joe Root brought England close to securing a series victory at The Oval. India had assumed command of the fifth Test when Brook entered at No. 5 needing 268 runs, but he capitalized on the opportunity with a bold 91-ball century, marking his tenth in Tests and his first in a match’s fourth innings.
