Following a woman’s claim that a student raped her in the boys’ hostel of the Indian Institute of Management-Calcutta, her father on Saturday refuted the accusation, asserting that she had tumbled from a car.
Reports suggest that the suspect was detained following an FIR filed by the woman at Haridevpur Police Station. The event occurred within the boys’ hostel of the college on Friday.
“No such incident occurred with my daughter. I got a call at approximately 9:34 PM, but my daughter did not reveal her whereabouts during that time.” During the call, the survivor’s father mentioned that she had fallen from car and was unconscious.

In her complaint, the woman claimed that she was lured to the hostel with the pretense of participating in a counselling session.
She stated that after drinking a beverage provided by the accused — which she believes was contaminated with drugs — she became unconscious. Subsequently, she claimed that she had been raped.
Another Rape In West Bengal
This shocking event occurs just days after a Law College student was reportedly gang-raped in West Bengal. The main suspect, Monojit Mishra, a past student of the college, threatened to murder the victim and subsequently raped her in a group with two other suspects. The additional accused are Zaib Ahmed and Pramit Mukherjee. Simultaneously, the survivor submitted a formal complaint to the police, leading to the arrest of all three suspects.
