On Saturday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi stated that yoga serves as a strong instrument and a “pause button that humanity requires to breathe, find balance, and restore wholeness” during times of global instability.
During the 11th International Day of Yoga celebrations in Visakhapatnam, PM Modi stated, “Sarve bhavantu sukhinah (may all be happy) – we should live by this philosophy, as it fosters a harmonious community. Regrettably, the world today is observing extensive violence and turmoil (unrest). Yoga serves as the essential pause humanity requires to inhale, achieve equilibrium, and restore calmness.”
With ongoing conflicts in West Asia and Europe, PM Modi emphasized that yoga diminishes ego and “transitions us from me to we,” underlining its ability to promote global harmony.

PM Modi elaborated on the reason behind this year’s International Yoga Day theme, ‘Yoga for One Earth, One Health’. The concept reveals a profound reality: the well-being of all beings on Earth is linked,” he stated.
‘Initially, we learn to take good care of our own health and wellness. Yoga instils strong personal discipline,’ he added.
PM Modi described yoga as surpassing nationalities and communities, stating that its message “belongs to all, irrespective of borders, background, age, or ability.”
“Whether it’s the Sydney Opera House, Mount Everest, or the vastness of the ocean, the message he conveyed is that Yoga is accessible to all,” he remarked.
