The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has officially declared the results of the Civil Services Examination (CSE) Preliminary 2025 today. A total of 14,161 candidates have qualified to appear for the next stage the Civil Services (Main) Examination.
Prelims 2025 Held in May:
The UPSC CSE Prelims 2025 were conducted on May 25 across various centres in India. The exam was held in two shifts for General Studies Paper I and the Civil Services Aptitude Test (CSAT). Lakhs of aspirants appeared for the prestigious examination, which serves as the first stage in the three-tier recruitment process for services like IAS, IPS, IFS, and others.

Candidates who appeared for the exam can check their results on the official UPSC website: https://upsc.gov.in. The results have been published in the form of a PDF file containing the roll numbers of all qualified candidates.
What’s Next: UPSC CSE Mains 2025:
The qualified candidates will now move on to the Main Examination, scheduled to begin from September 20, 2025. The Mains consist of nine descriptive papers, including optional subjects and language papers, and is considered the most crucial stage of the selection process.
Candidates are advised to keep track of the UPSC website for the release of the Detailed Application Form (DAF), which must be filled out to appear for the Mains.

In a press note, the Commission said:
“The candidature of these candidates is provisional. In accordance with the rules of the examination, all qualified candidates must apply again in the Detailed Application Form-I (DAF-I) for the Civil Services (Main) Examination.”

Experts suggest that candidates begin preparing intensively for the Mains immediately, focusing on essay writing, answer structure, and their chosen optional subject. With just over three months left, time management and focused preparation will be key.
