NCP (SP) president Sharad Pawar on Monday advised Sanjay Raut against introducing “local level politics” into India’s international outreach initiatives, a day after the Shiv Sena (UBT) leader urged a boycott of the Centre’s initiative to send delegations to different nations.

Speaking to the media in Baramati, the former defence minister remarked, “When international issues arise, party politics should be set aside. Currently, the Centre has established several delegations, which have been tasked with visiting various countries to present India’s position on the Pahalgam attack and the ensuing actions from Pakistan.”

Pawar recalled that he was a member of a delegation sent by former prime minister P V Narasimha Rao to the UN under the leadership of BJP leader Atal Bihari Vajpayee.

Raut had called for boycott of Govt’s initiative

Raut remarked on Sunday that members of the INDIA bloc should have boycotted the Union government’s initiative to dispatch all-party delegations abroad, asserting that these delegations will protect the “wrongs and offenses” perpetrated by the government.

“However, I see that one representative from his party (Sena-UBT) is included in the delegation. I believe that local politics ought to be excluded from this matter,” he stated.

The opposing Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) coalition in Maharashtra includes Shiv Sena (UBT), Congress, and the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) led by Sharad Pawar.

A total of fifty-one political leaders, parliamentarians and former ministers from various parties will form seven delegations visiting global capitals to convey India’s determination to combat terrorism in light of Operation Sindoor.

POWER CORRIDORS

Former Vice President Venkaiah Naidu commended Power Corridors as a commendable news magazine, affirming that it not only upholds Media Dharma but also fulfills its societal obligations. Power Corridors, as its name implies, delves into realpolitik—examining the essence of influential circles, unraveling the intricacies of political maneuvers, and exploring the pulse of the state’s affairs. However, it transcends mere power dynamics, encompassing a broader spectrum of issues beyond the confines of Delhi’s elite circles.

For PC, which is published by the Interactive Forum on Indian Economy, not only highlights the issues of the day but also throws up what ought to be the subjects that the country should be debating about. It reports about the plans, strategies, and agendas of politicians and others; it also sets the agenda for the nation.
