The serene and picturesque city of Dehradun, nestled in the valleys of the Himalayas, has this time become the main stage for a new Hindi-English-Punjabi thriller film ‘Blue Ocean’. Made under the banner of Majkhali Brewery Company Pvt. Ltd., this film has been produced by Shankar and Shelly and directed by Shankar Borua himself. Â
The story of the film revolves around Prakash Negi, a mysterious and dashing undercover police officer, who has served in North America and now arrives in Dehradun on a special mission assigned by the Government of India. Â
Prakash, who himself hails from the Kumaon region of Uttarakhand, comes close to a local girl, Diya Bisht, who is pursuing a PhD in English literature. The two meet at Blue Ocean, a high-end gym in the city, where the story takes an unexpected turn. Â
‘Blue Ocean’: uncovers the layers of crime
In the film, Prakash clashes with a notorious conman, Ganesh Saharan, who has cheated many innocent people from Rajasthan to Dehradun. Ganesh’s motive is to swindle people’s hard-earned money by promising triple profits. He is accompanied by his partner Pushpa Dimri – an ambitious young woman who is willing to go to any lengths to rise in the social ladder.
As the story progresses, the audience is drawn into a mind game where it is revealed that both Prakash and Ganesh are artists in their own right – both having cleverly hidden their true identities.
The philosophical aspect of the film is related to fitness:
‘Blue Ocean’ is not just a crime thriller, but it also sheds light on the mindset and lifestyle of today’s fitness-crazed generation. The film shows how people worship their bodies within the walls of the gym, but it is not easy to identify the soul and intentions.Â
Multilingual presentation and international storytelling:
The film is made in Hindi, English and Punjabi languages and has English subtitles so that it can connect with the audience both in India and abroad. Its total duration is around 110 minutes.
‘Blue Ocean’ is a unique amalgamation of thriller, drama and philosophy that takes the audience on a journey where the line between truth and lies gets blurred. The film will be releasing in theatres soon and is set to shock the audience with its mysterious and psychological aspects.Â
