IPL 2025: Delhi Capitals will take on Kolkata Knight Riders at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in a crucial tie in Indian Premier League on Tuesday, April 29. This will be the first and only clash between the two teams in this year’s edition.
DC lost momentum after a dream start to IPL
After having a dream start to the season, Delhi Capitals suddenly lost momentum in the last few matches, however they have still got a lot to play for. Despite their recent loss to RCB, they still find themselves in the Top 4 of the Points Table. The same, however, doesn’t hold true for their opponents KKR.
Kolkata Knight Riders experienced an uneven beginning to their season, securing three victories and three defeats. Due to a few huge wins, their net run rate remained positive, and only three matches earlier, they were in a position to potentially lead the table after dismissing Punjab Kings for 111.
However, the decline started in that particular match, when they were dismissed for 95. Since that time, they’ve been defeated by Gujarat Titans and faced a no-result at home because of rain.

DC are placed 4th while KKR are at 7th on the Points Table
As teams around them gradually picking pace in the competition, both DC and KKR can’t afford to make too many mistakes now. The equations are significantly more challenging for Ajinkya Rahane’s Kolkata, currently in seventh place with seven points.
On the other hand, after failing to pursue 206 against Mumbai Indians at their home ground, DC fell to GT after scoring over 200, while they couldn’t defend 162 against RCB despite displaying some resilience early with the ball.
In the match against RR, DC nearly succeeded in pushing the contest to a Super Over after finishing their first innings with a score of 188. The batters have all made good starts but haven’t managed to turn them into significant contributions, and Axar Patel and his teammates will be keen to rectify this swiftly.
However, Delhi Capitals are placed at the fourth place with 12 points from 9 games and have a much better chance to make it to the play-offs. If Delhi manage to carve out a win, they can make it to the top spot. On the other hand, if KKR win, they will get a much needed lifeline.
