In a significant setback for Kunal Kamra, the online ticketing platform BookMyShow on Saturday deleted all content associated with the stand-up comedian and took him off the roster of artists featured on its website.

Kamra, referencing the India Today article, requested BookMyShow to verify the update. “Hello BookMyShow, can you please confirm if I have your platform to list my shows? If not, it’s fine. I understand,” he tweeted.

This follows a day after Shiv Sena (Shinde faction) youth leader Rahool N Kanal sent a letter to BookMyShow, asking the firm not to give a platform to Kamra, in light of his contentious comments about Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde.

Kanal emphasized the need for the website to refrain from aiding in the sale of tickets for Kamra’s forthcoming show, stating that “allowing ticket sales for his events might be viewed as supporting his polarizing rhetoric, potentially leading to significant consequences for public opinion and order in the city.”

Shortly after the ticketing platform decided to erase Kamra from the roster of artists, Kanal praised the action, expressing gratitude to BookMyShow for eliminating any material associated with the artist.

On Tuesday, the Mumbai Police sent a third summons to Kamra regarding an FIR for defamation and comments considered to be public mischief. The Mumbai Police also came to his residence on Monday to see if the comedian would come forward to meet them.

POWER CORRIDORS

Former Vice President Venkaiah Naidu commended Power Corridors as a commendable news magazine, affirming that it not only upholds Media Dharma but also fulfills its societal obligations. Power Corridors, as its name implies, delves into realpolitik—examining the essence of influential circles, unraveling the intricacies of political maneuvers, and exploring the pulse of the state’s affairs. However, it transcends mere power dynamics, encompassing a broader spectrum of issues beyond the confines of Delhi’s elite circles.

For PC, which is published by the Interactive Forum on Indian Economy, not only highlights the issues of the day but also throws up what ought to be the subjects that the country should be debating about. It reports about the plans, strategies, and agendas of politicians and others; it also sets the agenda for the nation.
