For the next three days, Mumbai, Thane, Palghar, and Navi Mumbai are under a heatwave alert issued by the India Meteorological Department (IMD).

The current temperature is six to seven degrees higher than usual, according to an IMD official. The official mentioned the odd weather, adding that in February, the temperature in Mumbai hit 38.5 degrees.

Temperatures are expected to increase by one or two degrees on Wednesday, February 26, and then decrease by one or two degrees on February 27 and 28, according to an official who spoke to CNBC-TV18. However, the expert added, this won’t significantly reduce the high temperatures.

Even though heatwave conditions have been reached, according to weather stations like Santacruz, there hasn’t been any official word on the issue yet. According to sources cited in the CNBC-TV18 article, the Konkan belt is experiencing conditions similar to a heatwave.

IMD Scientist Dr Soma Sen Roy, speaking on Western disturbances approaching North Indian region, said, “Rainfall will start increasing over the Western Himalayan region. We have heavy rainfall warnings for the region of February 26-28.”

POWER CORRIDORS

Former Vice President Venkaiah Naidu commended Power Corridors as a commendable news magazine, affirming that it not only upholds Media Dharma but also fulfills its societal obligations. Power Corridors, as its name implies, delves into realpolitik—examining the essence of influential circles, unraveling the intricacies of political maneuvers, and exploring the pulse of the state’s affairs. However, it transcends mere power dynamics, encompassing a broader spectrum of issues beyond the confines of Delhi’s elite circles.

For PC, which is published by the Interactive Forum on Indian Economy, not only highlights the issues of the day but also throws up what ought to be the subjects that the country should be debating about. It reports about the plans, strategies, and agendas of politicians and others; it also sets the agenda for the nation.
