On Thursday, Delhi’s Special Cell apprehended the spouse of gangster Hashim Baba in connection with a drug case. Zoya Khan was apprehended with 270 grams of heroin valued at approximately Rs 1 crore.

Although aware of her involvement in managing her gangster husband’s illicit activities, authorities had struggled to obtain evidence against her—until now.

Gangster Hashim Baba is currently incarcerated in Tihar Jail, facing numerous charges of murder, extortion, and weapons offenses. Zoya, Hashim Baba’s third wife, wed him in 2017 following her divorce from her first husband.

Reports indicate that Zoya took on a role akin to that of Haseena Parkar, who was the sibling of underworld figure Dawood Ibrahim, overseeing his illicit operations while evading law enforcement.

Zoya was coordinating the gang’s operations from outside the prison, aiding in extortion and various criminal activities.

Sources from the Special Cell indicate that Zoya led an opulent lifestyle, frequently participating in exclusive events and showcasing luxury brands, as evident from her social media. She frequently visited Baba in prison, and their meetings focused on managing the gang’s activities, unlawful extortion, and task assignments.

Law enforcement had been attempting to capture Zoya for years, but she consistently found a way to escape apprehension. Nonetheless, Special Cell ACP Sanjay Dutt and Inspector Sandeep Dabas ultimately succeeded in ensnaring her in a drug case.

Following a tip-off, police apprehended her in the Welcome area of Northeast Delhi while she was distributing drugs. They seized 270 grams of heroin valued at approximately Rs 1 crore in the international market.

POWER CORRIDORS

Former Vice President Venkaiah Naidu commended Power Corridors as a commendable news magazine, affirming that it not only upholds Media Dharma but also fulfills its societal obligations. Power Corridors, as its name implies, delves into realpolitik—examining the essence of influential circles, unraveling the intricacies of political maneuvers, and exploring the pulse of the state’s affairs. However, it transcends mere power dynamics, encompassing a broader spectrum of issues beyond the confines of Delhi’s elite circles.

For PC, which is published by the Interactive Forum on Indian Economy, not only highlights the issues of the day but also throws up what ought to be the subjects that the country should be debating about. It reports about the plans, strategies, and agendas of politicians and others; it also sets the agenda for the nation.
