The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) has acted against 18 employees for breaching its policy that mandates staff adherence to Hindu customs.

The TTD board, headed by Chairman BR Naidu, had earlier declared that only Hindu staff could be employed at TTD. However, it was discovered that these 18 employees were engaging in non-Hindu customs, resulting in disciplinary measures

According to the resolution of the TTD Board, these employees will be dismissed from their present positions at TTD temples and related departments. They are likewise prohibited from participating in any Hindu religious activities or responsibilities.

The staff members are presented with two choices: move to government sectors or seek the Voluntary Retirement Scheme (VRS). Non-compliance will lead to additional measures being taken.

As per the 1989 Endowment Act, TTD staff are required to follow Hindu traditions, and the board voiced worries that violations could compromise the sanctity of TTD and the feelings of worshippers.

BJP leader and TTD Board member Bhanu Prakash Reddy endorsed the action, saying he was ready for however many non-Hindu employees had to depart.

POWER CORRIDORS

Former Vice President Venkaiah Naidu commended Power Corridors as a commendable news magazine, affirming that it not only upholds Media Dharma but also fulfills its societal obligations. Power Corridors, as its name implies, delves into realpolitik—examining the essence of influential circles, unraveling the intricacies of political maneuvers, and exploring the pulse of the state’s affairs. However, it transcends mere power dynamics, encompassing a broader spectrum of issues beyond the confines of Delhi’s elite circles.

For PC, which is published by the Interactive Forum on Indian Economy, not only highlights the issues of the day but also throws up what ought to be the subjects that the country should be debating about. It reports about the plans, strategies, and agendas of politicians and others; it also sets the agenda for the nation.
