Rohit Sharma, who captained India to T20I World Cup title last year has been named the captain of the ICC T20I Team of the year announced by the International Cricket Council.

Three other Indians also find place in the the team namely, Hardik Pandya, Jasprit Bumrah, and Arshdeep Singh.

Pakistani batsman Babar Azam has also been included in the T20I Team of the year.

No place for Virat Kohli

Although he played a match-winning innings in the T20 World Cup final in June, Virat Kohli is excluded from the selected team.

Unexpectedly, no South African players were selected for the team even after reaching the T20 World Cup final. World’s top-ranked player Suryakumar Yadav has also been excluded.

Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli both announced their retirement from T20 internationals after leading India to victory in the world championship in Barbados the previous year.

India’s supremacy in the squad is justified, considering their victory in the T20 World Cup, which concluded an 11-year drought for an ICC trophy in men’s cricket.

The T20I Team of the Year’s pace-bowling unit is made up solely of Indian players, featuring Bumrah, Arshdeep, and Hardik leading the charge. This was the identical combination India employed in their victorious T20 World Cup journey in the USA and the West Indies.

Rashid Khan and Wanindu Hasaranga are the two specialist spinners selected, and Zimbabwe’s Sikandar Raza is the only all-rounder on the team.

POWER CORRIDORS

Former Vice President Venkaiah Naidu commended Power Corridors as a commendable news magazine, affirming that it not only upholds Media Dharma but also fulfills its societal obligations. Power Corridors, as its name implies, delves into realpolitik—examining the essence of influential circles, unraveling the intricacies of political maneuvers, and exploring the pulse of the state’s affairs. However, it transcends mere power dynamics, encompassing a broader spectrum of issues beyond the confines of Delhi’s elite circles.

For PC, which is published by the Interactive Forum on Indian Economy, not only highlights the issues of the day but also throws up what ought to be the subjects that the country should be debating about. It reports about the plans, strategies, and agendas of politicians and others; it also sets the agenda for the nation.
