Star Indian pacer Jasprit Bumrah was selected in the ICC Test team of the year after achieving his best-ever performance in a calendar year in the longest format.
On Friday, January 24, the ICC (International Cricket Council) announced the men’s team of the year for the longest format, featuring three Indians in the XI.

Bumrah had a record-breaking 2024, finishing the year as the format’s leading wicket-taker with 71 wickets from 13 matches (26 innings) at an impressive average of 14.92, including five instances of 5-wicket hauls. His remarkable achievements propelled him to the summit of the ICC Test rankings, where he also set the highest ratings ever recorded by an Indian bowler.
In addition to Bumrah, rising star Yashasvi Jaiswal secured a spot in the team after an impressive year with the bat, becoming the second-highest run scorer for the year. Jaiswal amassed 1478 runs across 15 matches (29 innings) with an average of 54.74, including three centuries and nine half-centuries.

All-rounder Ravindra Jadeja has also been included in the team, accumulating 527 runs with an average of 29.27 and taking 48 wickets at an average of 24.29. He also ranks among India’s top five highest wicket-takers in the format, surpassing Ishant Sharma and Zaheer Khan.
