Lieutenant Governor of Delhi, VK Saxena, unveiled two striking panther sculptures on Monday at Janki Chowk, the bustling intersection of sectors 20, 22, and 23 in DDA’s flagship Dwarka sub-city.
Carved from black granite by traditional artisans from Rajasthan, each sculpture weighs an impressive 1.5 tonnes. Highlighting the artistic brilliance behind the creations, the LG remarked that these sculptures not only showcase exceptional craftsmanship but also enhance the aesthetic appeal of the area.
Strategically positioned for maximum visibility, the sculptures serve as symbolic gateways for residents and visitors heading to prominent landmarks such as the DDA Golf Course, Yashobhoomi Convention Centre, and Bharat Vandana Park. Beyond their ornamental value, these sculptures embody vibrancy, agility, strength, and grace, representing a harmonious balance between nature and urban development.
The LG also distributed licenses to 29 “Namo Drone Didis” at Najafgarh in the presence of Area MP, Kamaljeet Sehrawat
These aspiring drone pilots have undergone a comprehensive skill training, since August 2024, to operate drones effectively.
The LG said that licences issued to these Drone Didis marks a pivotal moment in their journey towards empowerment and integration into the workforce, with the use of advanced technology, as envisioned by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
By providing these women with the tools and recognition they need, this scheme is significantly helping break barriers and create new opportunities, he said.
