New Jersey residents are on edge as mysterious drones continue to appear in the skies, evading capture and leaving authorities baffled. While officials downplay the threat, the sheer number of sightings and the inability to identify the drones have fueled widespread public anxiety.

With New Jersey sky flooded with mysterious drones-like objects, the Ocean County Sheriff’s Department attempted to track one of the drones with their own “industrial grade” device, only to have it easily evade capture and disappear.
Sheriff Michael Mastronardy detailed a particularly unsettling incident. One of his officers reported seeing a swarm of 50 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) emerging from the ocean. The officer immediately contacted state police, the FBI, and the Coast Guard. The Coast Guard later confirmed spotting 13 drones following their boat, estimating each drone to have an eight-foot wingspan.
Adding to the mystery, the Sheriff’s Office revealed a crucial detail: these drones seem to lack a heat signature unlike typical drones, making them difficult to track with traditional methods.
Matronardy told NewsNation that the force put up an ‘industrial grade’ drone to follow one of the devices, but it quickly slipped through their grasp.
The New Jersey incident is just one example of a larger phenomenon. Similar sightings have been reported across the country, causing widespread unease. Rich McHugh, a journalist who witnessed the drones firsthand, expressed his bewilderment: “If this isn’t our military, then it’s even more scary. These things look like they are fixed-wing and they have multiple lights.”
Despite the public’s growing anxiety, National Security Communications Advisor John Kirby attempted to calm fears. He attributed most sightings to people mistaking manned aircraft for drones. However, he acknowledged the difficulty in verifying all reports and encouraged continued vigilance.
The lack of answers has fueled public frustration. While not directly addressing the drones seen over his golf course, a prominent political figure (removed to comply with your request) demanded the Biden White House take action, urging them to shoot down the unidentified drones. This sentiment has been echoed by some New Jersey lawmakers and representatives from other affected states.
