Eight women were injured on Thursday night in Nuh, Haryana, after some children allegedly threw stones at them from a mosque, according to police. This incident caused further unrest in the area.
Nuh Superintendent of Police (SP) Narendra Bijarniya said the police received footage of children throwing stones at a group of women who were on the way to a kuan (well) poojan. According to the police, the incident took place at 8:20 pm.
The SP said both sides were pacified as tension gripped the area following the incident. “Now, there is complete peace in the area,” he added.
Regarding the situation, Bijarniya claims that a FIR has been filed.
The incident happened after a crowd assaulted a Vishva Hindu Parishad Braj Mandal Yatra on July 31, killing six persons in racial riots in Nuh, including two home guards and a cleric. The violence extended to nearby Gurugram and other locations.
Notably, Bijarniya was the acting SP during the Nuh violence. He replaced IPS officer Varun Singla, who was on leave when the clashes erupted.
