Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma was present at the Optus Stadium stands on Saturday, showing support for her husband, Virat Kohli, during the thrilling Day 2 of the first Test between India and Australia in Perth. Fans were delighted by the star-studded moment as photos and videos of Anushka quickly went viral on social media.

On Saturday, Australia were dismissed for a total of 104 runs, as Indian captain Jasprit Bumrah took his 11th five-wicket haul to lead the attack. India managed to gain an important 46-run advantage by lunchtime on the second day of the initial Test match in Perth. Bumrah (5-30) had a quick effect, getting rid of Alex Carey (21) on his first delivery of the day. The delivery, bowled short and moving away, hit Carey’s bat and was caught by Rishabh Pant behind the wickets.

India had a tumultuous start, crumbling to 150 runs in only two sessions during a day with 17 wickets. Nevertheless, Bumrah’s outstanding performance led to a remarkable turnaround, with Australia struggling at 67-7 at the end of the day. On the second day, newcomer Harshit Rana (3-48) took an early wicket, getting Nathan Lyon (5) out with a short delivery that he edged to KL Rahul at gully using pace and bounce.

Even though the lower-order rebellion lessened India’s advantage, the harm had already been inflicted. Bumrah’s excellent display, which included taking Carey’s wicket with the first ball of the day, established the mood. Rana effectively assisted in dismissing Lyon prior to the late resistance from Starc and Hazlewood. India currently has the upper hand as the game resumes following the lunch break. Be ready for what is sure to be an exciting second half in this tightly contested Test match.

POWER CORRIDORS

Former Vice President Venkaiah Naidu commended Power Corridors as a commendable news magazine, affirming that it not only upholds Media Dharma but also fulfills its societal obligations. Power Corridors, as its name implies, delves into realpolitik—examining the essence of influential circles, unraveling the intricacies of political maneuvers, and exploring the pulse of the state’s affairs. However, it transcends mere power dynamics, encompassing a broader spectrum of issues beyond the confines of Delhi’s elite circles.

For PC, which is published by the Interactive Forum on Indian Economy, not only highlights the issues of the day but also throws up what ought to be the subjects that the country should be debating about. It reports about the plans, strategies, and agendas of politicians and others; it also sets the agenda for the nation.
