Who was Manoj Mitra
Mitra, born on December 22, 1938, attended the Scottish Church College in Kolkata and authored numerous short stories.
It was while he was in college that he cultivated a passion for theatre.
He composed more than 100 plays, such as Sajano Bagaan, Chokhe Angul Dada, Kaalbihongo, Parabas, Alokanandar Putra Kanya, Narak Gulzar, Aswathama, Chakbhanga Madhu, among others.
He worked as a professor in the Department of Drama at Rabindra Bharati University for several years and retired in 2003.
In 1985, Manoj Mitra received the Sangeet Natak Akademi Award for Best Playwright.
