A Class 11 student was reportedly beaten up by his PT teacher for chanting “Jai Shri Ram” at a school in Greater Noida on Monday. The parents of the boy claim that their son was expelled from school as a result of the incident.
According to Deepak Sharma’s complaint, the incident took place on August 15 while his son Lakshay Sharma was enrolled in class. He joined the other pupils in the school who were chanting “Jai Shree Ram” when he heard them.
PT teacher, Yatish and two other women teachers called Lakshay out of the classroom and scolded him. When Lakshay tried to defend himself, Yatish beat him, leaving him injured, said Deepak Sharma.
Lakshay told his uncle Vikrant Sharma the entire story when he arrived at the school to pick him up. After that, they tried to complain about the incident to Asha Sharma, the school principal, but they were turned away.
When Lakshay’s father approached the school principal for the second time, the accused teacher denied all the allegations and said he thrashed Lakshay only to restore discipline among students.
The father alleged that they were threatened by the school principal and her husband, Sandeep Sharma, who is also the school director.
“He said that he was associated with the political party BJP and wouldn’t let my son take admission to any other school,” Lakshay’s father said in his complaint, demanding action against the accused teacher.
