Neeraj Chopra, India’s ‘Golden Boy’, advanced to the final of the men’s javelin throw event at the Paris Olympics 2024 on Tuesday. Chopra achieved a breakthrough distance of 89.34m in the Group B qualification round on Tuesday, qualifying for the final on his first attempt.

Later, Pakistan’s Arshad Nadeem, who broke the 90-meter record at the Commonwealth Games in 2022, joined Chopra in the final, crossing the qualification standard distance on his first attempt.

Neeraj Chopra competed in Qualification Group B in the afternoon session in Paris, following Julian Weber of Germany who won Qualification Group A with a best effort of 87.76 meters. And Neeraj put down an early marker, sending a signal to the rest of the field in Paris.

Second-best throw of Neeraj’s career

This was Neeraj Chopra’s second-best throw of his career, trailing only his personal best of 89.94m set at the 2022 World Championships.

Neeraj Chopra appeared calm and composed as he finished his warm-up routines before putting up a big effort. Neeraj surpassed his previous season best with 88.36m, set at the Doha Diamond League.

POWER CORRIDORS

Former Vice President Venkaiah Naidu commended Power Corridors as a commendable news magazine, affirming that it not only upholds Media Dharma but also fulfills its societal obligations. Power Corridors, as its name implies, delves into realpolitik—examining the essence of influential circles, unraveling the intricacies of political maneuvers, and exploring the pulse of the state’s affairs. However, it transcends mere power dynamics, encompassing a broader spectrum of issues beyond the confines of Delhi’s elite circles.

For PC, which is published by the Interactive Forum on Indian Economy, not only highlights the issues of the day but also throws up what ought to be the subjects that the country should be debating about. It reports about the plans, strategies, and agendas of politicians and others; it also sets the agenda for the nation.
