A 73-year-old Indian citizen is facing charges for allegedly molesting four women aboard a Singapore Airlines flight from the US to Singapore. Balasubramanian Ramesh reportedly spent a 14-hour period targeting the four women in the alleged incident. He is looking at a 21-year prison sentence and is set to admit guilt on December 13.
The purported occurrence occurred between 3.15 am and 5.30 pm on November 18.
On November 25, Ramesh showed up in a Singapore courtroom and is accused of seven counts of molestation.
Information about the victims, such as their roles as passengers or crew members, has not been revealed due to a gag order in place to safeguard their identities.
It is reported that all the victims were sexually assaulted at various times throughout the day.
The supposed event started at 3.15 am, with Ramesh allegedly harassing his initial target. After five minutes, he reportedly focused on another woman. Between the hours of 3:30 am and 6 am, he reportedly sexually assaulted the second victim on three additional occasions.
At 9.30 am, it was reported that Ramesh violated the dignity of another woman. The last reported event supposedly took place at 5.30 pm.
According to Singaporean legislation, every molestation offense can result in a maximum punishment of three years imprisonment, a monetary penalty, or both.
Although caning is a possible punishment for molestation in Singapore, Ramesh is exempt from it due to his age, as offenders over 50 years old are not subject to caning.
